2010 - No more "oughts"

So long 2009!

2010 is just around the corner.

For some time the neighborhood has needed a web presence. A blog seems like the simplest way to achieve this in the interim. So here goes.

What's Happening...

2009 brought us a new library. What do you think of it?

2009 also brought us a master plan for Mason Mill Park. 2010 should bring it's implementation.

The North Druid Hills LCI is in process. See www.NorthDruidHillsLCI.com for more info.

A group of 14 single-family neighborhoods around Toco Hills has formed a non-profit organization named the Toco Hills Area Alliance (THAA) to encourage the redevelopment of Toco Hills shopping center as a neighborhood, mixed-use center.

Dekalb County has budgeted funds for a new senior center to be built in District 2 and the Toco Hills area has been identified as the best location for the center, based on the demographics of the area.

Lifelong Dekalb, a project sponsored by District 2 Commissioner Jeff Rader, has begun developing policies to support senior housing and walkable communities across Dekalb.

Well that's all for now.

Be sure to post comments if you have any.

Happy New Year!
